Background Check



Finding service professionals who have passed a background check is appealing to some service buyers or their end customers. OnForce enables all of our pros to voluntarily submit to a background check with ChoicePoint. This is 100% voluntary on the part of a service pro, but many professionals recognize that this offers peace of mind to potential buyers.

If a professional has the Background Check badge in their OnForce profile, it means that ChoicePoint has performed a Social Security Number verification, as well as searches on national, county, and municipal court records, and sexual offender databases.

If any of the following situations are present in a service pro's background check, that pro will be removed from the OnForce marketplace:

 7 years since last action - includes prison time,
 probation, etc.

Misdemeanor

7 years

 7 years since conviction, with the exception of:

  • Single conviction of DUI/DWI without injury
  • Traffic offenses (without injury)
  • Insurance, registration offenses
  • Offenses related to fishing or hunting licenses
  • Bounced check without intent to steal
  • Littering, dumping
  • Et al.

Sexual Offender

Any

 All sexual offender convictions

Pending Cases

Any

 Any pending court case whose conviction would
 result in an "Ineligible" finding

Social Security
Number

Any

 Incorrect or non-existent SSN, or SSN belonging to
 someone deceased
